Zhiguo He - James Irvin Miller Professor of Finance at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University
Professor Zhiguo He is a financial economist, his expertise spans financial markets, institutions, and macroeconomics, with a focus on Chinese financial markets and advancements in cryptocurrency and blockchain. Prior to Stanford, he served at Chicago Booth from2008 to 2023, gaining tenure in 2015 and leading the Becker Friedman Institute China from 2020 to 2023. Professor He's research is published in leading finance and economics journals. He has held editorial roles, including guest editor for the Review of Finance's "Special Issue on China" and current editor of the Review of Asset Pricing Studies.
Zhiwei Zhang - President and chief economist, Pinpoint Asset Management
Zhiwei Zhang is an experienced economist currently serving as the President and Chief Economist at Pinpoint Asset Management in Hong Kong. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director, Chief Economist, and Head of Equity Strategy for China at Deutsche Bank. He also held the role of Managing Director and Chief China Economist at Nomura Securities from 2011to 2014. Before that, Zhang was a China Economist at CICC from 2010 to 2011.Before moving to investment banking, he was from 2008 to 2010 the head of China macro research at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. He was an economist at the International Monetary Fund from 2002 to2008, working mostly in the Research Department and the Asia and Pacific.
Sourabh Gupta - Resident Senior Fellow at Institute for China America Studies
Sourabh Gupta is a senior Asia-Pacific international relations policy specialist with two decades of experience in think tanks and political risk research in Washington, D.C. His expertise lies at the intersection of international trade and investment law, international maritime law, and Asia-Pacific international relations. He specializes in U.S.-China trade and technology competition, WTO developments, Asia-Pacific economic regionalism, and major power relationships such as China-U.S., China-Japan, and U.S.-India. Gupta has served as a Senior Research Associate at Samuels International Associates, Inc., and holds master's degrees in security studies and international relations from Georgetown University and Syracuse University. He is a member of the United States Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific (USCSCAP).
Hung Tran - Senior Fellow and economist, Atlantic Council’s GeoEconomics Center
Tran has significantly influenced policy decisions and research on advanced and emerging market economies, global capital markets, debt and capital flows, and financial stability. From 2007 until his retirement in 2018, he worked at the Institute of International Finance (IIF), where he served as executive managing director and led the Global Capital Markets Department from 2012. He was responsible for the IIF's esteemed market policy research as a counsellor and senior director of Capital Markets and Emerging Markets. Before the IIF, Tran held notable roles at Rabobank International in London as managing director, chief economist, and global head of research from 1998 to 2001.Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Deutsche Bank in various senior positions, including director of global fixed income research, co-founding managing director of Deutsche Bank Research GmbH, and head of equity business for the Asia-Pacific region
